TanStack AI 1.0: integrating AI while keeping architectural choices open
An AI library should support control over costs, data access and the future evolution of your business application.
TanStack AI reached version 1.0 with stable core APIs. Its new agent execution harness remains experimental.
The KIMY perspective
Switching model providers should not force a business to rewrite every workflow. Separating the interface, business rules and model calls makes future changes easier. That separation does not guarantee response quality or predictable spending. We recommend starting with one specific feature, a per-request budget and a fallback behaviour. Evaluate responses against representative cases, particularly when the product supports several languages. Keep authorization decisions in application code rather than leaving them to generated text.
What to check
- Define what the AI may suggest and what it may execute.
- Compare cost, latency and quality on identical test cases.
- Plan a fallback when the provider is unavailable.
